AC Unit Repair for Every System Type in Salt Lake City
The term "AC unit" covers a wide range of cooling equipment. Whether you have a central air conditioning system, a ductless mini-split, a packaged rooftop unit, or a window air conditioner, our partner technicians have the training and experience to diagnose and repair it.
Central Air Conditioning Systems
The most common residential AC type in Utah. Consists of an outdoor condenser unit and an indoor evaporator coil connected by refrigerant lines. Central air distributes cooled air through ductwork to every room. Most central AC repairs fall in the $150 to $700 range.
Ductless Mini-Split Systems
Increasingly popular in Utah, especially in older homes without ductwork, home additions, and spaces where central air does not reach effectively. Mini-splits have an outdoor condenser and one or more indoor wall-mounted air handlers. Common repairs include refrigerant leaks, fan motor failures, drainage issues, and control board malfunctions. Repair costs: $150 to $600.
Packaged Rooftop Units
Found on some single-story homes and commercial buildings. The entire AC system is housed in a single cabinet, usually on the roof or on a concrete pad beside the building. Common repairs include compressor issues, fan motor failures, and thermostat or control problems. Repair costs: $200 to $800.
Window and Portable AC Units
While our network primarily services permanently installed systems, some of our partner technicians also service window units. However, for most window units under 5 years old, replacement is often more cost-effective than repair given the low cost of new units ($150 to $500).
Common AC Unit Problems and Costs
